Wanted !

Today I watched "Wanted", the latest Salman Khan flick. Many of you might mock at me for saying this, but it was a "GOD MOVIE"!
I know it was a nonsensical drama, utter bullshit with some toppings of comedy. But what I strongly feel is that it is high time that sources like IMDB add another entry to the genre of movies - Masala. This genre is unique to Tollywood, with the father of this genre "Rajnikant", an epitome of "The ultimate Superhero". Although Bollywood does make such movies like the recent Kambakht Ishq, Tollywood directors specialize in them.
Movies falling into this category are recognized by their extreme action sequences, often to the heights of impossibility, countless songs, periodical comical sequences, cheap romance, colloquial usage of slangs, few steamy scenes, twists in the climax & other kinds of stupidity. The ultimate aim of such a kind of film is that the viewer is fully entertained without thinking much & there's always a grin on his face throughout the movie.
In today's stressful life, there's a dire need of such enjoyable movies, freeing one's mind of all tension of professional life. Hence the success of such movies in Bollywood & Tollywood in recent times. This is "feelgood" cinema & one needs to appreciate these too. Really, movies like "Wanted" are desparately wanted!

@ knighrider: I think you were in a very frustrated mood before you read my post & vented it out on me! Anyways, you've got it all wrong, buddy.
Firstly, I haven't written anything bad about Tollywood. Neither have I praised Bollywood over Tollywood. Obviously, I haven't seen an inch of the Tollywood movies you've watched, you being from Hyderabad. And I haven't written anything in a satirical manner.
The general perception of a film industry is based on the movies the industry generally produces. You can't change the way people think. In fact, the objective of the makers seemed to provide the audience with enjoyable nonsensical shit. And that is what I approved of. My only idea was to convince people that such movies just should not be looked down upon, since they make no sense, but to be viewed as a movie of a distinct genre.

Peace.

Hey, i don't know you well, but i can't help commenting because your post deeply offends every telugu-speaking person's sensibilities.
There are a few things i wish to make clear for you:
1. Rajnikanth, technically speaking, works in Kollywood (Tamil cinema) & none of his films portray cheap comedy or romance. Most of them, are in fact, socially significant.
2.Ur so-called 'masala' genre is unique to the whole of Indian cinema, not just Tollywood. Should I mention the 'item songs' that are so very famous in Bollywood?
Get your facts right before posting such offensive non-sense.
I get it that ur trying to show your approval towards the end,but it mainly seems like a critique of Tollywood-and a wrong one at that.
